About The Team:

The College of Mount Saint Vincent Men's Volleyball Team officially began in 1990 as a club team. Due to the sparked interest within our college community, the club became a varsity intercollegiate NCAA Division III team in 1992. In its the Dolphins won only one game, fifth season due to some very hardworking individuals, the team was growing and developing.

In 1994, three top players from PSAL of NYC were recruited to play for the Dolphins. This was the turning point of the CMSV Men's Volleyball Team. In its first season, with the help of the new recruits and the leadership of some of the veteran players, the Dolphins had a record breaking season. Winning 19 of its 29 games, the team became an instant success story, upsetting the top-seeded program in the Metro Conference Tournament.

In 1995, Jeff Adams was named to lead the CMSV program. His innovative leadership style and expert teaching and coaching techniques lead the program to three consecutive winning seasons peaking in 1997 with a Metro Conference Championship title and a #11 national ranking. Jeff's team also produced an All-American Division III player, two Metro Conference All Tournament Team members, and a Metro Conference Player of the Year. For these accomplishments in 1997 he was named the Metro Conference Coach of the year.

The following season was even stronger. The 1998 team went an unprecedented 24 and one in Division III and also defeated two Division II teams. They entered the NECVA Conference Tournament as the top seed and won the Conference Championship. The Dolphins Finished the season ranked #7 in the nation and missed playing in the NCAA National Tournament by only one vote. Last years team, 1999, followed in the footsteps with new coach Karl France. They ended with a 23 - 11 winning record, and loss of only one player. With a slew of upcomming seniors there will be another shot at the championship title.
